Dave is a twelfth-generation native of Coastal Sussex County, Delaware, and a veteran local business owner, including local restaurants R.F. Wheaton’s and Dave & Skippy’s. A former member of the board of directors of Habitat for Humanity in Sussex County, Dave was also the youngest person ever elected Chairman of the Sussex Republican Party. Dave is a licensed Realtor and lives outside Lewes with his wife and two young children.

As a fifth generation Sussex Countian, Merritt was born in Milford, DE and raised on Lewes Beach. He enjoys volunteering at the Lewes Farmer’s Market, walking his Chesapeake Bay Retreiver at Broadkill Beach, kayaking the local waterways, playing golf, surfing, hunting waterfowl and deer, and spending time with his family and friends.
Merritt’s background includes experience in governance, tourism, education, outdoor recreation and real estate. His credentials include a B.A. in Political Science from Washington College and an M.P.A. from The University of Delaware’s School of Urban Affairs and Public Policy. He is also a licensed Realtor with Lewes Realty and is President of Coastal Properties Consulting, a land development, sales and marketing consulting company.

Love your website! I do p.r. for a number of local volunteer non profit organizations and wnat to submit calendar items and press releases to you, but can’t figure out how. Please! Help!
