Video: Fresh Local Produce at Lawson’s

July 14, 2008

Coastal Sussex County Delaware has a rich history with fresh fruits and vegetables. Decades ago strawberries, peaches, apples, blueberries, watermelons and blackberries were local staples. These fresh products were railed to Philadelphia, sailed to Baltimore, and trucked to Wilmington.

Today we are fortunate to have farmers like Cliff Lawson, owner of Lawson’s Produce in Harbeson, grow his own fruit and vegetables for us to enjoy. Cliff and his family have been farming the Harbeson area for four generations. His produce stand is located south on Route 5, less than one mile from US Route 9. Cliff sells everything required for your summer picnic, including sweet corn, green beans, and local melons.

So, stop by Cliff’s produce stand and support your local agricultural professional! Scroll down for a video on Lawson’s Produce.
